New Open Source Printables

Savetz Publishing has introduced two brand-new websites to the FreePrintable.net family of useful sites offering free and low-cost printables. Made specifically for people using open source word processors in lieu of Microsoft Word, the dozens of OpenOffice printables and LibreOffice templates can be found at OpenOfficeTemplates.com and LibreOfficeTemplates.net.

"I like to provide a customizable DOC version of most of my printables," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "But the DOC format doesn't always show up correctly with OpenOffice or LibreOffice. The new versions of these templates are available as ODT and ODS files instead, so the format is usable."

The new open source files are drawn from various popular sites in the FreePrintable.net family and divided into six categories: school, finance, medical, fax, family tree, personal and work printables. Each category has a handful of relevant templates such as planners, trackers, certificates and invoices.

Users will find a wide variety of useful templates at both sites. Teachers can find lesson plans, detention slips and even a diploma. For doctors and other medical professionals, there are plenty of health templates for new patients, pet owners and diabetics. For those seeking more personal, less specific printables, there are to do lists, menu planners and general stationery templates available as well.

Each template is available to download and print from a home computer as an ODT file. They can be edited in LibreOffice or OpenOffice, both of which are also free to install from their respective sources.

There are more than 80 sites in the FreePrintable.net family of free printables sites created by Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
