USPS fact sheets on the new Postal Service Health Benefits Program

Since the enactment of the Postal Service Reform Act (PSRA) last year, NALC has been working with the Postal Service, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), our sister postal unions, and other stakeholders on the implementation of the Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) Program, a new postal health insurance program required under the PSRA in 2025.

PSHB is a separate program within the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program and will be administered by OPM. The PSHB Program’s coverage of postal employees and annuitants (as well as covered family members and survivors) will be effective Jan. 1, 2025.

NOTE: The changes called for by the PSRA will have no immediate effect on postal participants currently covered by FEHBP or on the 2023 Open Season (for plan year 2024).

Today, the Postal Service released fact sheets for employees and annuitants with more information on the PSHB Program.
