2017 NAB Show: So WHAT IS ‘The M.E.T. PPM Analysis: All-News.TALKERS managing editor Mike Kinosian presents a look at the performances of all-news formatted stations based on data from Nielsen Audio’s March 2017 PPM survey.  WWJ, Detroit leads the pack of stations that saw an increase (6+) from February to March.  Kinosian notes that “roughly four of 10 stations on the news panel are up February 2017 – March 2017 (41%); just over one in three (35%) are down and the remaining 24% remain flat (6+).”  Comparing performances to the same period in 2016, “Approximately six of 10 stations on our eligible sample improves year-to-year (59%, 6+) while 41% show a decrease.”  In the March 2017 survey, just one all-news station ranked #1 in its market – CBS RADIO’s WWJ, Detroit – but seven others ranked in the top five in their respective markets.  See the entire report here.
