Why do so many subscription businesses struggle to scale after they launch?

MVP, or “Minimum Viable Product” has long been misunderstood.

Today, most founders hear the term MVP and think it means Millionaire Venture Payday. They want to get to that big money, and especially now with crypto down, subscription start-ups appear to be the next best option.

Unfortunately, most founders miss the iterative improvements part of the lesson. They launch their minimum viable product, then they’re disappointed when their business doesn’t scale.

And thus, for most founders, MVP actually means, My Volatile Profit. NOT what you want.

This episode of Be Unleavable® Subscription Growth reveals how to use the MVP concept to launch your business quickly, then use the market feedback to make your product better, to enable you to attract more customers and scale.

??Where I’ve been:

My wife and I were at the Ironman Coeur d’Alene 70.3 triathlon in Idaho last weekend.  I finished 98th in my age group. Not the improvement I was hoping for before the race.

The water temperature on the swim was 59 degrees. With all the competitors, the swim felt like ice bath wrestling.

The bike was so hilly the first half of the bike was either 8 mph or 38 mph. There were several 30+ minute climbs.  Then, when I got to the turnaround, there was a headwind back. After that, it was even harder.

The run was strong, for the first half. Still strong though.

And, I noticed my wife catching up to me so I slowed down so we could finish together. She started several minutes after me so she raced faster than I did on the day.

Next, my wife and I start a week’s vacation in Glacier National Park.

?? Tools I use:

Because I get so many questions about my Youtube studio I created a short studio tour and equipment list.  Would you like to check it out?

Here’s a studio tour with the equipment I use to record videos.

?? What I’m pondering:

While I often have vivid dreams, there was a very vivid dream recently.

The theme was similar to the poem, The Guest House by Rumi. We receive a lot in our lives. Often we try to reject things we consider bad.

Here’s an illustration of the poem, The Guest House.
