Dallas, TX, March 22, 2013 — On Saturday, March 23, the Discovery Channel will unveil the atrial fibrillation documentary, "A Heartbeat Away From Stroke". StopAfib.org, a non-profit organization for those living with atrial fibrillation, is proud to be a collaborator in this vital documentary project.

Atrial Fibrillation (AF) affects more than 2 million people in the US. Those living with it are at five times greater risk of having a stroke. Atrial fibrillation-related strokes are more severe than other strokes, and thus are more deadly or debilitating. These strokes change lives in an instant.

Strokes due to AF can be prevented, but unfortunately, many who have AF are undertreated or untreated for stroke prevention, which is especially true for women and minorities.

This groundbreaking documentary, "A Heartbeat Away From Stroke", explores the connection between atrial fibrillation and stroke so patients and family members can learn about the importance of stroke prevention.
