When leaving a job, or even a volunteer position, it can be hard to find the right words for a resignation letter. The website ResignationLetters.biz has 173 letter templates, along with tips on what to include in a resignation.
"These templates serve as a jump-start for writing a letter that suits your own situation, and they can also just be used as-is," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "The letters are are free to download, customize and print."
Twenty-one new letter templates were just added to the site, including some for specific jobs and others that address a specific reason for resigning such as: disability, stress, a long commute, a sick family member, scheduling, low pay, work-life balance, conflicts of interest or general "personal reasons" and "unforeseen circumstances."
One letter template addresses "constructive dismissal," while another reports bullying in the workplace. A few letters refer to gross misconduct and hazards. The new additions include wording to nominate one's successor in a role. There are also two new letters retracting resignations.
New articles at the site address disciplinary hearings and the seldom-encouraged negative resignation letter.
ResignationLetters.biz also has letters giving specific notice before the resignation takes effect, resignations from roles in education, resignations from specific jobs, and resignations from volunteer or church positions.
The letters are in DOC (Microsoft Word) format, or users can simply cut and paste the text directly from the site. The letters and articles at ResignationLetters.biz should not be considered as legal advice.
"ResignationLetters.biz is just one of my more than 100 sites featuring fun and helpful printables," Savetz said. "For example, be sure to check out BusinessFormTemplate.com for more than 1,400 business forms, letters, charts and other items.
