Personal Conversations Model: How to Sell Best

Get-Togethers
We typically meet friends at each other’s home, outdoors on a sunny day, and sometimes at a nice restaurant. Whatever the case, a smile is ours as we foresee a pleasant get-together and learning what’s new with our friend(s). The sharing of smiles and laughter encourages us to share more challenging situations and ask our good friend how they would handle a similar problem to gain ideas. Most of all, stress is nowhere to be seen, as the conversation is sincere, demonstrating the desire to connect and learn.
Business Get-Together vs. Meetings
Imagine starting a Zoom call or in-person meeting with a smile on your face and a tone of friendliness and curiosity in your voice. The combination will serve to relax the meetings.
The Older World
Now imagine my dilemma – long ago, I was not permitted sales training because I was a female; I had never sold before; yet I needed to help fund upcoming college tuition. Stress was rampant at home, but upon meeting with prospective clients, I told myself, ‘You can do this!’ I instructed myself to view the meeting as an opportunity to meet potential friends and pursue those connections.
Upon entering the meeting room, I first thanked the people for taking the time to meet with me, and then immediately asked the question,’ What caught your interest to take the time to meet with me today?’ The answer was to be a learning moment for me to retain the job. Each prospect was surprised but was happy to relay the details. Not too long after, I asked each how they liked their job, wondering if it might be better than the situation I was facing. Often, our conversations became personal, their time allotment ran out, and they asked me to return for another. After three or four such meetings, my prospects inquired what I was selling because the CEO demanded that a purchase finally be made!
AI Coming Forth
While it is true that AI is coming after many jobs, communications will still take place, and it’s vital to remain authentic. A professionally friendly tone and matching facial expressions, plus interest, will always be a winning strategy when we can meet online or in person.
Moreover, we can use AI to research a business, our competitors, and relevant information to make a lasting impression. One sales trainer taught that there is always a ‘workaround’ for any seeming obstacle.
Conclusion: Personal Conversations Model: How to Sell Best
Today’s world requires staying up to date with innovation, including AI and robotics, while it is also beneficial to embrace old-fashioned niceties. The two make a winning combination for future sales.
