Since today is Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your help.
Giving Tuesday is the time of year when people around the world support what matters most to them. We’re not asking for donations for us but instead are asking for your support for patient-driven afib research.
At the past two Get in Rhythm. Stay in Rhythm.® Atrial Fibrillation Patient Conferences, you heard from Prof. Bianca Brundel. She is a professor in the physiology department at the Amsterdam University Medical Center in The Netherlands. There, she leads translational research projects focused on understanding the underlying mechanisms and progression of afib.
Thanks to her patient-driven research, we can learn practical ways to manage our afib. For example, she continues to examine the role of supplements to help with afib.
This year, she shared with us information on testing how toxic triggers drive afib progression and how those findings will be used to discover effective treatments and diagnostics. She also discussed patient involvement in research, including how to get involved.
Based on this, we in the patient community have stepped up to help fund some of Dr. Brundel’s research. All funds (after credit card fees) will go directly to her research. We are not keeping any of it.
You can learn more about her upcoming GGA Atrial Fibrillation Study, which could lead to more effective afib treatments, and how you can help, at:

Your contributions will make an impact. Thank you for your support of this vital patient-initiated research.
To your health,
Mellanie True Hills

PS. Once you’ve donated, please take a few minutes to watch Prof. Brundel’s presentation at our 2022 Atrial Fibrillation Patient Conference. Here is the page where you can donate and watch the presentation.
