Stepping away from ongoing ridicule takes courage, but when one applies it, doors open wide, welcoming one. Stop for a moment to imagine never hearing criticism, let alone ridicule, and how life might be. For a split second, it might seem ‘wonderful,’ but the reality is if we were successful from the start and never erred, there would be nothing to learn. Moreover, improvement would likely not be a factor.
Unfortunately, many people believe they are alone in being targeted with criticism, so they only follow the crowd instead of seeking out a unique path to stand out. It takes gumption to be willing to put up with ridicule to focus on one’s hidden talent, as it is the key to a prosperous future.
Know that being prosperous is not just financially freeing; it can also refer to finding enjoyment in the work you do on many levels. Hiding talent from the public accomplishes little; accordingly, our blog offers insights into how hidden talent is the key to a successful future – Dare to Be You!

The realization of what you want to do comes first; the next step is to decide on is the order of the subsequent steps to take. Coming to grips with what you enjoy and how to approach it for business can become your differentiator for a successful future.
Define Success on Your Terms
The first question to answer is what will make you happy, followed by how you will make it a reality and whether you are committed to doing so. Getting started can be highly challenging upon realizing what is necessary to learn. Moreover, we are entering a new era where Cybersecurity is a primary issue, and knowledge about AI, including ChatGPT, is in its early stages and is predicted to impact all realms of daily living.
Examine Inner Concerns
Success begins with knowing and accepting ourselves fully. While we may not have the type of talent seen on stage or screen, our hidden talent is unique and ready to reveal upon mustering up the courage to do so. One good way to motivate ourselves is to consider ‘the worst that can happen’ and devise a plan for dealing with the problematic occurrence.
Test Venues Including Networking Events
There will always be groups of people who either like or dislike what we have to say. While the undesirable commentary can produce anger, it’s best to listen to the selected words to potentially and quietly uncover the following:
• How to improve current work
• New ideas for a more robust effort
• People with whom to avoid or collaborate
Research In Your Style
Some people are studious, others highly observant, and another category is being creative. No matter our style, trial, and error will inevitably enter the picture for each of us, as not everything works out to our satisfaction the first time around. Sometimes, minor adjustments can resolve issues, while at other times, an entirely different approach will be necessary. But what is most vital in attempting to improve ‘your game’ is perseverance. We cannot allow anyone to interfere with our goals to fulfill our purpose.
Dare to Be Different
The irony of my being different in my youth encouraging non-stop ridicule is that remaining authentic and not giving up ultimately led to unexpected and remarkable results that always surprised me.
My most notable example is being told by peers that my first book was stupid and should not have been written although it quickly became an International Bestseller and Evergreen among the classics. Sometimes it hurts to stand out and other times, it can be the best thing we ever attempt.
