Former Branch 84 shop steward Stephen Rice dies

NALC is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Pittsburgh Branch 84 member Stephen Rice. Brother Rice died on Dec. 26, 2021, after suffering a heart attack.

Stephen started his career with the Postal Service in 2001, and he was a letter carrier at the Green Tree Pennsylvania Post Office for the entirety of his career. He had previously served as a shop steward for Branch 84.

Stephen is survived by his wife Stephanie and his four children Sapphire, Candrika, Baladev and Jonathan. He was 50.

“NALC sends our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues of Brother Rice,” NALC President Fredric Rolando said. “We are appreciative of his service at Branch 84, and we mourn his loss.”
