Teachers, Caretakers and Occupational Therapists convened for continuing education and a meeting of the minds this month at the Bi-Annual UAAACT Conference held at the Ogden-Eccles Conference Center in Ogden, UT. The UAACT conference hosted more than 500 attendees who came out to attend educational sessions and learn about new assistive products and practices emerging in Assistive Technology this year.
EnableMart product manager, Michele Paley hosted an educational session in cooperation with Microsoft Accessibility entitled "Empowering Students with Accessible Technology that Enables Personalized Learning." The session covered topics like assessment and personalization of the computer using built-in features of Microsoft Windows 7 as well as top level demonstrations of several emerging technologies that have changed the face of education today.
Attendees were also given the chance to demo and try out more than 20 types of Assistive Technology on their own at EnableMart's on-site exhibition area. The most talked about products throughout the event were the
Livescribe Smartpens,
Intel Reader,
Readingpen and
Orbitouch Keyless keyboard, all available online at

At the end of the conference attendees were awarded certificates of completion for continuing education credits and were treated to a lunch in honor all those individuals that worked to plan and carry out the conference. The event was a huge success and attendees all raved that they "couldn't wait for the next conference" to be held in February 2013.
