Fax Your Representative for Free

The internet fax service FaxZero continued to make it easy for constituents to reach out to their elected representatives in 2019.

"A grand total of 1,764,365 faxes were sent via FaxZero.com during 2019," said Kevin Savetz, a faxing expert since the 1990s and founder of FaxZero. "Many of those were faxes sent to members of the U.S. House and Senate, as well as state governors. People are determined to make their voices heard."

FaxZero's free, one-click fax-your-representatives service complements the other free and low-cost options at the site, including international faxing.

Each year since the fax-your-reps option was added, Savetz has shared which representatives were faxed the most. He dubbed 2017 "The Year of Protest Faxing" due to the sharp uptick in faxes sent to elected officials via FaxZero.

The most-faxed member of the House of Representatives last year was Nancy Pelosi of California, who became speaker when the body swung to a Democratic majority in November 2018. In fact, with 4,606 faxes sent, Pelosi's office was FaxZero's fifth most-faxed destination overall in 2019, behind Amazon, Southwest Airlines card services, FSSA Document Center and Equifax.

The senator receiving the most faxes was, perhaps predictably, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky). With 3,395 faxes sent, his office was the 10th most-faxed destination in 2019.

Other representatives receiving the most faxes via FaxZero's free fax the senate service were, in order: Pat Toomey (R-Pennsylvania), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina). The top Democrat fax-getter was Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York.

The most-faxed members of congress, after Pelosi, were: Jerry Nadler (D-New York), Adam Schiff (D-California) and Steny Hoyer (D-Maryland). The most-faxed Republican was Alexander Mooney of West Virginia.

A few years ago, FaxZero added the ability to fax state governors. In 2019, the most-faxed governors were: Gavin Newsom of California, Andrew Cuomo of New York and Ralph Northam of Virginia.

FaxZero.com lets users send up to five free faxes per day in the U.S. and Canada. With the fax-your-reps option, FaxZero pre-fills the legislators' name and number so it just takes a couple of clicks to send the fax.

"Elected officials often filter email, and callers can be met with busy phone lines. Faxing is another popular option for reaching out," Savetz said.

Other often-faxed entities in 2019 were government agencies, financial services, insurance claims centers and educational institutions.

Savetz started FaxZero in 2006 and since then more than 20 million faxes have been sent via the service. The simple interface accepts documents in DOC, PDF, JPG and other formats via cell phone, handheld device or desktop computer. The faxes usually take five minutes or less to transmit and all personal information is carefully guarded.

For more than five faxes in a day, or faxes longer than three pages, the premium faxing option is $1.99 per fax. International faxing is available for as low as $2, depending on the nation faxed, to more than 180 countries around the world.

FaxZero has been featured in publications such as U.S. News, Reuters and PC World. Savetz is also the creator of more than 100 FreePrintable.net sites including FreeFaxCoverSheets.net, with its nearly 400 fax cover sheet designs.

FaxZero.com is part of Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative websites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
