Attract The Right Job Or Clientele:

The news can be stressful; however, on December 31, I recognized one station’s noteworthy business model that inspires today’s blog.  I am not an advertiser for the network news but am an observer in many regards.

David Muir hosts the ABC-TV news, headquartered in New York, with a remarkable reporting team.  They deliver the news with compassion for their audience during the more tense times and end each evening report with a positive story.

On the last day of the year, Muir traveled the extra mile by recognizing the entire team behind the scenes contributing to the excellent work of the reporting team.  No matter the occupation or any other typical disqualifier, he showcased each contributor’s name, title, and a brief description of their unique talents.  For me, the video ending the year was a perfect example of teamwork and a noteworthy business model.

The rare companies that welcome, support, and showcase all employees appropriately, are the ones creating a noteworthy business model.  The businesses openly demonstrate their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion that is a rarity among many.

My Story

All too frequently, it was my experience to be under-appreciated in the corporate environment and have ideas knocked down as an entrepreneur.  It’s up to each of us to find where appreciation of our status at any given point in time may exist alongside additional motivation to continue moving forward.

As I began attempting to build a career after college, I wanted to become a news reporter.  I was ecstatic to have an interview scheduled at a top-rated news station.  However, upon arriving on time for the interview, I had to pound on the door as no one would open it.  Finally, a male opened the door to put his arms across the threshold to say; ‘a woman will enter my newsroom over my dead body.’  I’m not the violent type, and so I moved on.  But I always wondered how Leslie Stahl and Barbara Walters could make it and what the treatment must have been like for them to endure.

Travel was always in my cards and still is today.  Before one term became known, I contemplated how I could become a travel blogger to combine my love of travel with writing.  It was only a few years ago that my long-held dream came true.  Tickets to fly to a resort destination and take on my first assignment were in place, awaiting pick-up at the airport the following week.  But two days later, the unthinkable occurred, the announcement of our Covid-19 pandemic.  Sadly, the pronouncement by the man at the news station was quite similar to the possibilities with Covid.

Fortunately, writing is doable from anywhere, and with the internet, I can mentally travel anywhere I desire.  All the while, I keep my eyes on the news for societal, technological, and business updates.  Our willingness to keep up with the latest announcements encourages change, trial-and-error testing, and revising plans to move forward and ultimately accomplish what we always hoped to do.  Accordingly, I’m now involved with the Inclusion Allies Coalition committing their work to diversity, equity, and inclusion globally.

In conclusion, you may witness what the new teamwork looks like today via ABC-TV news with David Muir for ideas on improving your status by creating a noteworthy business model.  The ultimate advice is never to give up but find a better way, and collaboratively, we can accomplish so much more!

Your Story: Creating A Noteworthy Business Model

It does not matter whether you are a news reporter, a blogger, or operate a Fortune 100 company. What matters most is that you are creating a noteworthy business model. Solo entrepreneurs often work alone until a unique discovery helps transform the company into a giant corporation.

One of the pitfalls in having a highly admired corporation is opening retail shops, warehouses, and distribution channels. It’s easier to manage a campus in person than depend on everyone modeling the best for the best to occur. Reputation is essential at every turn. At any crossroads of a wrong turn, it’s best to correct direction immediately to improve the journey to success.

Consider these questions:

  • Do you attempt to ensure everyone you hire models the same level of integrity and trustworthiness?
  • Are you open to hiring people of varying cultures and ethnicities?
  • Do you provide equal opportunities for advancement?
  • Is higher level training available to all?

Sales Tips: Creating A Noteworthy Business Model

  1. Showcase the talent of employees.
  2. Hear out ideas from everyone willing to provide them.
  3. Routinely review the conduct of your partners to ensure all is good or have a serious conversation to make right anything questionable.
  4. Research the latest employment guidelines and suggestions to improve.
  5. Encourage ideas from everyone at your team meetings.
  6. Ask employees to share their favorite strategies for everyone to benefit.
  7. Consider sharing heartwarming stories to inspire employees and clientele further.
  8. Develop a non-profit charity on the side for employees to participate and help make a difference.
  9. Relentlessly continue building a trustworthy brand and reputation for others to recommend.
  10. Celebrate Success!
