There are even more ways to say you're sorry thanks to the new additions to the popular website ApologyLetters.net.


"This site has 474 sample apology letters for all kinds of personal and professional missteps," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "Just choose a template that's close to your situation, download it, and type into the file to customize the wording"


Twenty new letters have been added, and, as has been the case since the site's start in 2010, each template is free to download and customize for personal use.


There are letters for apologizing for a minor mistake as well as making amends for an egregious error. Some are intended for the workplace, or to be sent by business owners. There are apologies to friends, academic apologies and even sample letters for kids and teens.


New to ApologyLetters.net are regrets for personal rudeness such as downplaying someone's painful experience. There are two new roommate apology templates, including one that has wording for framing a request. Plus, there is a new general apology for a "personal misstep"


Other new sample letters address: academic errors, adding to someone's schedule, not attending an event or impacting someone's workload.


For extreme situations, the site also has several public apologies. The newest are designed to apologize for wrongful conviction or for harassment, or to issue a mass apology.


The newest letters designed to come from a business owner or manager include: a senior-level apology, raising rent with regrets and raising premiums or rates.


There are also new sample letters with prompts to help children apologize for lying about grades or money. Another lets them say they're sorry for a late thank-you note.


ApologyLetters.net also has several short articles with tips on how to write a letter of apology.


"Site users can simply download any of the letter templates instantly in editable DOC form to edit in Microsoft Word," Savetz explained. "Or, simply cut and paste the text directly from the site to use with your software of choice"
