Though talking heads, who are wannabe psychotherapists,
pretend that they can tell what’s inside Putin’s head, and
spout off theories from ‘Roid Rage’ to Rampant Cancer, all
of their theories are too simplistic. Vladimir Putin is a
complicated man, so there is no one ‘diagnosis’ that can
explain who he is and why he’s behaving like a seeming
‘madman’. In today’s podcast, you will hear about the
many psychodynamic, psychiatric and physical
components of the kaleidoscope of problems that make
Putin tick.

First of all, in order to understand anyone, we have to
look at the traumas they experienced in their childhood.
Vladimir’s childhood in post-war Leningrad left indelible
imprints on his psyche – from war-torn parents who
weren’t able to express warmth and love, to schoolyard
bullies to poverty and rats… Vladimir’s childhood made
him feel threatened on all sides.

You will hear how his childhood made him promise
himself never to be vulnerable again, and caused him
to develop a Paranoid Personality Disorder. You will
also hear about his psychodynamics, that is, how his
personality causes him to interact with the world. These
concepts include: castration anxiety, identification with
the aggressor and self-loathing for any hints of
weakness.

On top of this, you’ll hear why he is being forced to
confront his mortality more than ever, and how this is
affecting his plans to restore the USSR. There are
also rumors about various physical illnesses that he
may have from Covid19 to cancer, and more. Steroids
are controversial for cancer, but he may have been
taking them for another reason and this could cause
not just ‘rage’ but a more important problem….
