Prevalence of and Plans for Virtual Events Among Associations in 2012Between our inaugural Association Virtual Conferences 2011 report, and our next version of the report, Association Virtual Events 2012, we saw the number of associations offering a virtual event more than triple. Of the respondents to the online survey that served as the basis for Association Virtual Conferences 2011, 11.7 percent indicated their organizations had offered a virtual event. In Association Virtual Events 2012, we reported 38.0 percent of respondents said their organization had previously offered a virtual event.
Among the 62.0 percent of organizations that had not previously offered a virtual event at the time of the survey for the 2012 report, 57.1 percent reported plans to offer one at some point in the future. Which means we could see another big leap forward in the use of virtual events in the association space.
But we need your help to find out.
We’re working on a new edition of the Association Virtual Events report due out in October, and, if you work for a membership organization, we need your help?even if you do not currently offer or plan to offer a virtual event and regardless of the size or budget of your association. If you haven’t already (and many, many thanks to those of you who have already responded to the survey), please complete the survey on virtual events that will be a cornerstone of the new report, and help spread the word about the survey to your colleagues.
Thanks,
Celisa

P.S.

In conjunction with the release of the report and sponsored by Digitell, we?re holding a ?Association Virtual Events? Webinar on October 16. You can reserve your spot at https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/939680118.
