Recently, I spoke with a highly successful CEO who leads quarterly all-company meetings. She is respected, accomplished, and deeply committed to her team. When I asked who opens the meetings, she replied, “I do.”

One of the most overlooked principles in executive communication is this: your presentation begins before your first word.

Leaders often believe, “It’s my company, my team, my meeting. They know who I am.” Precisely. That is why your presence needs to be elevated rather than casual.

You walk up and say, “Good morning.”
Or…
A Voice of God booms, “Ladies and Gentlemen, please join me in welcoming an industry leader, a dynamic community contributor, and the founder of one of the best places to work in our county. The woman we call Boss…Mary Johnson.”

The room applauds, and you step forward, with purpose and pride.

Same leader. Completely different impact.
