Speaking Topics by Mitchell P. Davis, Founder of The Yearbook of Experts

Each presentation is designed to last seven minutes. To keep the audience engaged, I focus on highlights rather than trying to cover everything. Topics one through eight can be combined into a one-hour program.

  1. Ten Ways Experts Build Their Brands

Includes audience participation and a handout of questions and answers.

How consulting, speaking, training, and coaching can provide freedom, flexibility, and income. This session helps attendees shift their mindset from job-seeking to opportunity-seeking. Includes a handout with action steps and contacts.
  3. Customer Supply Chain

How ISO 9000 practices can help ensure customers arrive on schedule, with examples of how strong companies create consistent new business.
  4. Blue Ocean Marketing Strategies

Finding new business opportunities where others are not competing.
  5. 23 Ways to Get More Clients

Attendees receive a copyright-free handout they can re-purpose and share with clients seeking more business.
  6. Protect Your Brand

Ten websites where you should register your username. Links available at www.BrandWhale.com

Sites include: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google, Yahoo, MySpace, Digg, Delicious, Technorati, and Vimeo.

  7. What Would Dottie Say?

Speaking-business strategies learned from recordings by Dottie Walters, one of the original leaders in the speaking profession.
  8. Collaborative Economics

    a. Their needs

    b. Your connections that can help meet those needs
  9. Training Classes for General Internet Knowledge

Practical, hands-on sessions in which I invite an audience member to step forward and participate. Topics include:

    a. How to record video with a Flip camera as a simple way to build content

    b. How to open a YouTube account and upload a video

    c. How to open a YouTube channel and attract subscribers

    d. Why your website should have an email opt-in form

    i. The immediate benefits

ii. How to use Constant Contact to set it up
  10. Training Classes for Yearbook of Experts Members on Using ExpertClick.com

    Topics include:

    a. How to send news releases, including best practices and simple mistakes to avoid

    b. The importance of defining your web objective and building pages that attract specific business

    c. Search engine optimization techniques and how to choose keywords

    d. How to use Google Keyword Selector to find the best words for your news releases

    e. How to use KWMap to find related words, and Keyword Spy to learn from pay-per-click ads and apply those lessons to organic marketing

    f. How to use organic breadcrumbs and text links to drive traffic

All presentations are delivered in an editorial style. I do not sell from the podium, but we have found that many members like to hear a one-minute summary of our services at the end of a presentation.

As a benefit for the organizing group, we offer a 50/50 revenue split on ExpertClick memberships sold at the event. For example, at a National Speakers Association event in January 2010, we raised $4,200, of which the organizing group received $2,100.
