We live on six acres of secluded property with a large pond, and the place has grown wild. So I asked for referrals for a landscape architect or arborist who does excellent work and could restore and improve the aesthetics of the place. One such referral in the state told me she didn't work in my part of Rhode Island, and I should Google resources.
You have to understand that if you drive 45 minutes in any direction in Rhode Island, you've left the state for Massachusetts, Connecticut, or the Atlantic Ocean.I don't see any reason to be shocked at the statistics of small businesses going out of business.
