Situational Morality
The students of Brown University are petitioning the administration to disinvest funds in any company dealing with Israel on the premise that the Palestinian people are oppressed by Israel. This, in a university named after the family of its original benefactors, the most heinous slave traders in the history of North America and maybe the world. This is also a university that won’t recognize Columbus Day and calls a Christmas Tree a “holiday tree,” and was successfully sued by a student who was falsely accused of rape and expelled in the absence of due process.
