Some people seem to believe that ALL feedback is somehow useful and should be considered. I disagree. Request and accept feedback from people whom you trust and ask. But ignore feedback from others.

Unsolicited feedback is for the sender, not for the recipient. It's often a passive/aggressive attempt to “top” the recipient because the sender feels inferior to someone who has appeared somewhere, spoken, written, been popular, and/or been cited. Women are particularly targeted, often receiving irrelevant feedback about their attire or “look,” which are matters of taste not performance.

Some people (those providing unsought feedback) claim that the only thing to do with feedback is accept it. That's fine, if your goal in life is to be a ping pong ball.
