With the support of HumanitiesDC, Martin Luther King, Jr. Library is opening its doors for a book discussion featuring author, Amy Odell, a fashion and culture journalist who is the author of Anna, a biography on Anna Wintour and Tales from the Back Row.  FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED, per www.coronavirus.dc.gov

What: Book talk featuring author Amy Odell discussing her book, Anna: The Biography and the intersection of fashion, politics and power with VIP reception for guests who pre-purchase a book. Gen Admission (FREE) | VIP Tickets ($54.99)

Who:  Fashion Intel Service, a live digital fashion platform, in collaboration with Martin Luther King Jr. Library presents: "Mission No. 1 - Who is Anna Wintour Really?, a  discussion and book signing  moderated by fashion attorney Mariessa Terrell featuring Amy Odell, former editor of Cosmopolitan.com and author of "Anna: The Biography".

Where: The newly renovated Martin Luther King Jr. Library, located a few steps from City Center at 901 G Street, NW, Washington DC 20001

When: Thursday, September 15, 2022 7pm to 8pm, book talk and book signing with free tickets available on EventBrite, and a VIP reception for VIP guests who pre-purchase a book from 8pm to 9pm at www.UrbanRoastDC.com, with open bar (VIP tickets: $54.99).

Amy Odell is a veteran fashion and culture journalist and the author of ANNA: The Biography as well as the essay collection "Tales From the Back Row." She currently authors the influential newsletter Back Row, which reaches thousands of readers in the fashion industry and beyond. She has been an editor at New York magazine, BuzzFeed, and Cosmopolitan. Her primary interest is the intersection of power, fashion, culture, and social issues.

Mariessa Terrell has been practicing trademark law for 20 years and has worked as a solo trademark practitioner; in-house trademark attorney consultant for Lockheed Martin and Leidos Corporations; and trademark and fashion law professor at her alma mater Howard University School of Law (HUSL).  A native Washingtonian and lover of all things fashion, Mariessa drafted legislation to create a DC Commission on Fashion Arts and Events in 2006, and from 2018-2020, Mariessa produced #DCisFashion, an episodic DCN show that aired on channel 16. In her spare time, Mariessa volunteers with the High Tea Society, a mentoring program for DC girls.
