“If you can create a team of AI super-users it’s likely to benefit your entire company.” An MIT study found that skilled workers who use Gen-AI within their capabilities will increase either performance by 40% compared to those who don’t.  While not everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon, you can counter your team’s apprehension by creating a compelling narrative for Ai use and empower them with the skills they need to make the most impact. The issue is whether you’re willing to commit to careful planning and thoughtful communication.

HOW companies are doing it – what works and what doesn’t – can be a topic of regular conversation at your Vistage Board meetings, if you’re using their network of 45,00 leaders to accelerate growth. If you’re a CEO and live in the tri-state area, and want an invitation to our next Board meeting, contact Jerry.cahn@VistageChair.com

Here are a few valuable tips from Monday.com on how to help your team become savvy, confident AI users:

  • Position AI positively. Since fear of the unknown is often the obstacle, position it as a technology efficiency tool rather than a potential replacement for employees.  It helps generate ideas in general, though not necessarily original ones.
  • Set clear guidelines. Gallup says that 70% of organizations lack clear policies for using AI, which causes resistance. This way you can make it clear that AI is for brainstorming or first drafts but that a human must edit all copies to ensure originality.
  • Create a rollout. Workers need to know how to incorporate it into their work.
  • Train your team. Build their skills. McKinsey found that 48% of employees say training increases their daily use of AI tools. One smart way is to pai more experienced users with someone who needs more help.
  • Become AI role models. Empower the team to feel confident and secure, knowing that they are at the forefront of innovation and contributing to a company that values professional growth.
  • Encourage continued innovation.  Remember we’re only at the beginning of a long road of Ai development. Keep challenging your team to go beyond the basics to try out new and creative uses.
