Okay, spoiler alert. If you haven’t seen the Netflix movie “Bird Box." this post may spoil it for you. Which is good news, as you’ll save the two hours watching something that should have been called “Bottom of the Bird Cage.." It was awful, mental health issues aside. I wish I had been wearing a blindfold!

I love Sandra Bullock, have since “Love Potion Number 9.." This movie is her worst. It was awful, her $5 haircut notwithstanding. Then again, you don’t have s lot of options when it comes to making her look unattractive.

Besides being an awful movie, with Sandra Bullock sporting an equally awful haircut, it’s a mental health disaster. It’s like a suicide how-to.

The first suicide takes place within moments of the opening credits and I lost count at several dozen, with no trigger warning. Did we learn nothing from “13 Reasons.." And no resources mentioned at the end. And that’s not the worst of it.

The worst part, from a mental health perspective, is that the only people immune to the biological weapon are the mentally ill, who, it seems, get their rocks off encouraging normal people to die by suicide, as you would. Please. That’s just what we mentally ill people need, another stigma. As if the persistent myth that we’re responsible for most of gun deaths in this country isn’t enough.

I’m mentally ill, and granted I’ve occasionally wanted to shoot someone, but that list is limited to myself and whoever wrote “Bird Box.."
