ARMING THE DISABLED Should Disabled Students Carry Weapons For Self Defense While On Campus?
A Disability Is A Clear Disadvantage In Crisis

When school shootings and natural disasters arise, who’s most at risk? “Clearly the disabled” declares Michael J. Left to their own devices in situations of panic and crisis, disabled students face the worst of all circumstances, being literal sitting targets.
If faculty is to start carrying guns, shouldn’t someone with a disability like paralysis, vision loss, or deafness be able to protect themselves as well?
After all, who’s looking out for the kids who can’t look out for themselves? Congress needs to address the issue of arming disabled students with weapons of their equal caliber.
