Genesis’ G90 has been an award-winning car for years now, and for good reason. It offers technology, style and comfort that bely its price when compared to its German and even Japanese luxury competitors. This 2023 E-Supercharged version adds all kinds of power that certain consumers will want.

Powering this gorgeous sedan is a potent 3.5-liter V6 that has an e-Supercharger on it. What this means is that it incorporates a mild hybrid system that powers an electric supercharger that boosts the engine’s horsepower to 409 and torque to 405 lb-ft. If you want more power, there is also a 5.0-liter V8 engine that’s good for 420 horsepower. Power is delivered to all four wheels by way of an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel economy is not the greatest, but then again, who cares about that if you can afford this car in the first place? It earns an EPA rating of 17 around town and up to 24 on the highway.

You get Genesis’ 10-year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, 3-year / 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and the Genesis “white glove” treatment for scheduled service.

We absolutely love the clean, elegant, bold front design that incorporates those sleek twin-slot LED headlamps and how they seamlessly blend into the front quarter panels. Its 21-inch alloy wheels add to the flare and Michelin 245/40/21 tires provide ample grip to the road and help make for a quiet ride.

Inside, the G90 provides some of the most comfortable front seats found in any vehicle. Three stage heated, three stage ventilated, massage and tons of support for lumbar and adjustability. However, the second row is where you’re placed into the lap of luxury. There’s a chauffeur mode that allows the right, rear passenger to do nearly a full recline, complete with a foot-rest. Additionally, there is a 3-stage massage for rear passengers as well. Rear passengers also have a multi-stage climate control system.

Its 12.3-inch infotainment system feeds into a multi-channel, high-powered Bang and Olufsen audio system that provides sublime audio performance. The center screen is a touchscreen, however, there is also a center console dial you can use to navigate all infotainment menus.

Driver aids include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, heads-up display, camera-view in the gauge cluster for switching lanes, front impact mitigation with active braking, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian alert, and blind spot monitoring. Any safety system one can think of, comes standard on the G90. There is literally nothing more anyone can add.

The driver has a 12.3-inch LED display for the gauge cluster and you’ll find that changing drive modes will also adjust this screen’s layout and environment.

Driving the G90 is pure luxury nirvana. Putting around in drive-mode, the G90’s air suspension absorbs all of the bumps and undulations on the road. The only draw-back we can think of in this mode would be that it’s so smooth and quiet that it may make the driver drowsy. Slap it into sport mode and you’ll feel and hear the drivetrain make a more spirited driving experience.

Its rear-steering helps the G90 gracefully handle the corners and body roll is minimal. Given the G90’s weight, it feels a lot lighter on its feet than one would anticipate. Braking is excellent and the overall steering wheel feel is also on-point.

You’ll find up to 10.2 cubic feet of storage in the trunk that auto opens when it senses you walking up to it with the key. There’s a cargo net, no spare tire but there is a tire inflation kit.

The G90 with the E-Supercharge starts at $98,700 – and there are really not many options at all. Our test model had carpeted floor mats that brought its price to just over $100,000.

While that is an extraordinary price for many people to even fathom, it’s a great bargain in the world of high-end luxury sedans. When you compare this G90 to the likes of Mercedes, Lexus, BMW or Audi, it’s a steal. In fact, this car is so good that the only reason we can think of why folks might not give it a nod is if they want to buy a different brand to impress folks they don’t even care about. That’s called status. Status be damned, Genesis is a legitimate luxury brand that is shaking up the automotive world and we’re stoked to see the products they come out with.
