sdi7 HIIT Workout. College Campus Safety: Prevention, Awareness, and Self-DefenseThis 7-minute interval workout teaches students the necessary moves to make when faced with an attacker.

Sexual assault is a current issue plaguing college campuses. Before students start heading back to school, it's important that they learn how to defend themselves in case of an attack. According to recent studies, 1 in 4 females will be sexually assaulted before finishing four years of college and the first three months of school are when freshman are most vulnerable to an attack.

To prevent further occurrences, Self Defense & Fitness Expert Rob Fletcher designed a workout program to teach prevention, situational awareness, and self-defense on college campuses. His 7-minute interval workout, sdi7 HIIT, teaches students what to do, where to hit, and how to prevent an attack.

The first course of action is prevention. Fletcher notes that the best way to wave off an attacker is to not look like a victim. Some ways to do this include remaining aware of your surroundings, appearing strong and confident, looking up from your phones, traveling in groups, and only visiting well-known locations.

If ever faced with a physical attack, students should hit the attacker in the primary target areas: the eyes, nose, and groin. Fletcher also advises students to carry pepper spray and know how to use it properly.

The sdi7 HIIT workout program implements fighting skills, self-defense, kickboxing, and core work to help build a strong body and train reflexes in case of an attack. The goal is to teach students skills that they will, hopefully, never have to use.
