At any given time, you will be in a group of people. Many of them within the group desire to write and publish a book. Some will say it out loud, others internalize it … think about it: “someday” I’ll write my book.
Why write a book?
Let me start with … my #1 reason: Being an author moves you into the expert zone … The Expert.
Whether it’s a solution to a problem, a revelation, or as a master storyteller. Your writing skills and your book notch up your status with others who call themselves experts. It enhances the influence you have and your ability to become the go-to person to solve a problem.
You can parlay your expertise into appearances within the media or developing and enhancing a speaking career.
Writing a book isn’t a piece of a cake like many think—it takes discipline, focus, a vision, and oh yes, courage. Sometimes, it involves sticking your neck out in a contrarian position. Those who are looking for a “voice” for a situation and a solution, search for those who have taken the time and energy to provide it. The experts.
What is an expert? It is someone who is way above what would be called average. It is someone who achieves exceptionally high performance levels within a specific subject matter on on a task or project. It is someone who is informed and keeps on learning in their field.
Enter the author. You.
Could the word expert be tagged to you?
If you want to make your mark, increase your presence, become a media expert, a sought-after speaker or consultant, or simply reinvent yourself, being able to include the word “expert” in your bio and across your social media profiles gooses up your presence.
As the author of a book that reinforces your skills … the expert … can be your best friend in moving your positioning forward. Are you?
