I might be slightly obsessed with my Peloton bike.
One of the main reasons beyond the convenience of it sitting in my office is that it sets my pace for my workout. Sure I’m competitive but I’m also realistic about their leaderboard, so I compete with myself. I want to beat my personal record for each workout. The tracking and monitoring allows me to do that. Sometimes I can smash one of my records and other times, like this morning, I can miss it by 30%.
Same applies to your work. You need to know what pace to hit. Sometimes it isn’t your own pace. Sometimes you need someone outside your organization comparing you to the best of the best in other leading companies around the world.
I often let my executive clients know when they are far exceeding results and performance than I’ve seen anywhere else, and when they are lagging behind.
Whose monitoring your ability and output and helping you adjust?
Dedicated to growing your business,
Val
