TONIGHT: The National Chamber Ensemble Welcomes Guest Host Lynda Carter

The National Chamber Ensemble will perform Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The show, at The Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater, is a Nancy Peery Marriott Discovery Concert and marks the season finale for the ensemble. More information on last-minute tickets can be found here.

Before the much-anticipated sequel is released next month, rewatch “Happy Gilmore” at The Wharf at 7 p.m. Free movies on Transit Pier will be screening all summer long on Thursday evenings. It’s Getting ‘Hot in Herre’ Or It’s Just The Nats Next Summer Concert Series Artist

2000s hit rapper Nelly is headed to Nationals Park Friday for a special post-game concert. The artist, famous for his hits like “Hot in Herre,” “Ride Wit Me” and “Air Force Ones” will be performing his hits after the 6:45 p.m. game versus the Texas Rangers. Last Chance to Catch ‘Forever Fearless’

An exhibit highlighting 17 D.C.-based artists is ending Sunday. “Forever Fearless,” a traveling collection of original sculptures, is sponsored by Our Daughters’ Futures Fund (ODFF) and currently at D.C.’s Union Market District. The traveling collection of unique sculptures will be auctioned off on Tuesday, June 17 at a fundraising event, along with works by artists like Maggie O’Neill and Halim Flowers. A Romantic Comedy at the Folger Shakespeare Library

Katherine Harroff is a playwright, producer, director, and actor and Artist-in-Residence at the Folger Shakespeare Library where she also serves as the Director of Engagement.
The second installation of community-driven performances of true love stories from community storytelling workshops comes to Folger Shakespeare Library Saturday and Sunday. Attend a performance (you can choose 6 different performances each day at 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.) and begin your journey at the Haskell Center. Guests will be greeted by artists and whisked away on a guided tour of entertaining and playful, at times moving scenes. More information on the shows can be found here.
The Bloom at Good Hope Concert Series Welcomes Nataly Merezhuk

Saturday at the Good Hope Recreation Center in Silver Spring, check out classically trained violinist Nataly Merezhuk. Her focus has evolved more into jazz as of late, and her debut album has been featured on NPR. The concert is free and part of “Bloom by Strathmore,” which works to expand access to the arts. The Untitled Unauthorized Hunter S. Thompson Musical
Now through July 13 at Signature Theatre, check out a new musical about journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson. The rock musical has music and lyrics from Joe Iconis and is directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley. More information on tickets can be found here.
See ‘With Passion and Purpose’ at The National Gallery of Art

From the collection of Larry D. and Brenda A. Thompson (who have championed the work of Black artists for over 40 years), this exhibit celebrates the biggest group of objects by Black artists to enter the National Gallery of Art’s collection at one time. Check out over 60 paintings, prints, sculptures, drawings and more organized in themes from music to social politics to civil rights. Featured artists include Jacob Lawrence, Kara Walker, Vivian Browne, Alonzo Davis and others. More information can be found here.
