July 4 weekend is finally here. There are plenty of things to do, including barbecues, outdoor movies, a new exhibit at the National Building Museum and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival has begun. This July 4 Weekend, Take in Some of America’s Pastime

The Washington Nationals take on the Boston Red Sox July 4 at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 1:35 p.m. On Sunday, there is a batting gloves promotion for kids 12 and under. Don’t forget to wear your blue, white and Nats red! More information on tickets can be found here.
See ‘Dreamgirls’ at The Wharf’s Sunset Cinema Series
Kick off the weekend July 3 at 7:30 p.m. with a screening of the movie “Dreamgirls.” Movies take place at the Transit Pier at The Wharf and limited Adirondack chairs are available on a first come, first served basis. Blankets and folding chairs are welcome, as is food from any Wharf restaurant. There will also be hot pizza from Union Pie and drinks from waterside bar Cantina Bambina. Parkour! at The National Building Museum

If one of your favorite cold opens of The Office was the parkour episode, you’ll want to check out “Momentum Park(our)” at the National Building Museum. Opening July 3 and running only through July 20, the limited time installation transforms the Great Hall into a fully immersive parkour environment. The exhibit explores the intersections of movement, spatial awareness and design, rooted in the beginnings of parkour developed in France in the 1980s. Celebrate the 4th at Bar Angie
Bar Angie in the West End is celebrating the 4th with a pre-fireworks patio party. There will be a spritz bar, food and drink specials, outdoor games and live music from 6-10 p.m. More information can be found here.
Head to a Barbecue and Block Party at The Willard

The Willard Intercontinental Washington, D.C. is celebrating July 4 with their annual Independence Day BBQ & Block Party. At the corner of Pennsylvania Ave. and 14th St. NW, there will be a custom-built Ardberg smoker trailer with Ardberg-based sauces, specialty cocktails and of course all-American favorites like hot dogs, burgers and popsicles. The LINE DC is Hosting a Rooftop Lounge Celebration
The LINE DC’s July 4 Rooftop Lounge Celebration will run from 6-10 p.m. Don’t miss a live DJ, carnival treats like cotton candy and hot popcorn, barbecue favorites, a full bar and more. We’re personally excited to try the specialty cocktail “Fizz Bang!” which is a take on the childhood favorite Rocket Pop and includes a Szechuan-strawberry “sparkler” to top it off. The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is Back Again
The annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival begins today and runs through July 7. On and around the National Mall, enjoy music, poetry, dance and story performances, cooking demos, hands-on workshops and discussion sessions. More on the complete schedule can be found here.
Celebrate Women Pop Songwriters at Signature Theatre

Opening this evening and running through July 13, Signature Theatre celebrates the greats like Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, Adele, Alicia Keys and more with a collection of hits by women pop songwriters. D.C. United Celebrates “The Fantastic Four”
On Saturday evening, Marvel fans are encouraged to come to the D.C. United game in their best costumes or cosplay to celebrate the upcoming Fantastic Four movie.
