Happy Halloween! There’s lots to do, from Halloween parties on Capitol Hill and in Navy Yard, an exclusive party at Ned’s Club, celebrating Dia de los Muertos at the Wharf and more. We hope you have a safe and spooky weekend.

Dia de los Muertos at The Wharf
From 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, The Wharf, in partnership with the Mexican Cultural Institute and Fiesta DC, will celebrate the Day of the Dead. The family-friendly afternoon features live music, face painting, sugar skull decorating, a community light procession and more. More information can be found here.

The Kennedy Center’s Performances for Young Audiences Season Continues

“Pulse,” performed by Company | E, will debut a world premiere production with dance, music and more. Children will enjoy performances on the cycle of the four seasons, to the planets and others. The show is best enjoyed by children ages 7 and up. More information on the show can be found here.

Strathmore Hosts a Live Screening of ‘Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror’

November 1 at The Mansion at Strathmore, check out an appropriate for the weekend live music screening of the 1922 silent film classic ‘Nosferatu’ accompanied by live musicians from the Artists in Residence program at Strathmore. More information can be found here.

Ned’s Club Opens for Halloween

For one night, non-members can have the opportunity to check out Ned’s Club. In partnership with HEIST, Ned’s is hosting “Sinister Séance,” a haunting event at the club Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be immersive rooms with themes like an Oval Office séance, haunted press room, live entertainment and food. Volta Park’s Fall Cleanup Day is Sunday

Volta Park will be hosting a fall cleanup this Sunday, November 2, from 8:30-11 a.m. John Richardson, the late Nina Richardson’s widower, and his family will be at the park as guests lay a commemorative plaque celebrating the Richardson’s years of love and care for the park. Many may remember the flowering dogwood that was planted adjacent to the basketball courts at the park in honor of Nina. More information can be found here.

Dana Tai Soon Burgess’s 2025 Black and White Gala is Saturday

While it is currently sold out, the Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company’s 2025 Black and White Gala is Saturday. The event will be an evening of dance and community at the Arts Club of Washington. More information can be found here.

L’Opera Comique de Washington’s Newest Season Debuts

L’Opera Comique de Washington’s mission is to introduce D.C. to French operetta and give chances to perform for young and upcoming talent. Their 2025-2026 season debuts Saturday evening with “Les Mousquetaires au Couvent.” More information on the performance can be found here.

Adams Morgan Fall PorchFest Returns

This live music extravaganza has over 100 bands on over 25 stages. Adams Morgan PorchFest has a genre of music for everyone, from bluegrass to classic rock and everything in between. It’s the Last Weekend for ‘The Heart Sellers’

Studio Theatre’s “The Heart Sellers” ends this Sunday. The show is about Luna, an outgoing Filipino immigrant and the more cautious South Korean Jane, who meet at a grocery store on Thanksgiving Day in 1973 while their husbands are both working. More information on the show can be found here.

Boo! Nightmare in Navy Yard is Back

Dubbed “D.C.’s biggest Halloween party,” Nightmare in Navy Yard will be Halloween night. Don’t miss three DJs and dance floors, themed cocktails and food trucks, and over 50 terrifying animatronics and inflatables. There will of course be plenty of haunted décor too! Hill-O-Ween is Halloween Night

Capitol Hill’s largest Halloween festival, Hill-O-Ween, is tomorrow from 4:30-6:30 p.m. This family-friendly event at Eastern Market includes candy, children’s activities and lots of spooky fun. More information can be found here.
