Happy Labor Day weekend! As summer ends, we hope you enjoy the last days of warmer weather and sunshine before the busy fall season arrives. Enjoy the three-day weekend and see you in September!

The Last Sunset Cinema at The Wharf is This Evening
Sadly, summer is coming to an end and so are the Sunset Cinemas at The Wharf. The last film, La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, will screen beginning at 7 p.m. Enjoy the movie musical with a pizza from Union Pie and a Pacifico Beer from Cantina Bambina before fall tap dances onto the scene. Get Nostalgic with Ja Rule & Ashanti at Nats Park
Early 2000s artists Ja Rule and Ashanti will be performing after Friday evening’s Nationals game versus the Tampa Bay Rays. The duo, famous for their hits like “Always On Time” and “Wonderful,” are the next iteration of the Nats’ Summer Concert Series. Concerts begin approximately a half hour following the final out. A Busy Weekend Continues at Nats Park
Also at Nationals Park this weekend are multiple nights honoring the diverse communities that make up our wonderful city. Friday is HBCU Day, celebrating Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Saturday is Taiwanese Heritage Day and Sunday is Jewish Community Day. Grab single game tickets to these games here.

Don’t Miss D.C. JazzFest
The DC Jazz Fest is this weekend! Don’t miss all the amazing acts and groups performing now through Sunday. The musicians are performing all over the city, from downtown to The Wharf, the Kennedy Center and others. More information on the festival can be found here.

The Glen Echo Labor Day Art Show Celebrates 54 Years
Glen Echo Park continues its Labor Day tradition with their 54th Annual Labor Day Art Show August 30 through September 1. The event is one of the biggest art shows in the region and also includes live music concerts at the covered, open air bumper car pavilion. More information can be found here.

Mount Vernon After Hours for Members
Mount Vernon will be staying open after-hours Friday evening, for members only. Members and their guests will have the opportunity to roam the grounds from 6-8 p.m., with picnics available from the Mount Vernon Inn restaurant. Members also can get 10 percent off all purchases from the shops. More information can be found here.

It’s the Final Weekend for ‘Bond in Motion’
The International Spy Museum’s ‘Bond in Motion’ is in its final weekend. Don’t miss the exhibit featuring sixty years of James Bond vehicles. As a special for the last few days of the exhibit, the museum is offering a $2 discount on admission. More information can be found here.

The National Symphony Orchestra Will Be Performing a Free Labor Day Concert
Sunday evening, head to the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol for the NSO’s annual free Labor Day Concert. Enrico Lopez-Yañez will conduct the family-friendly celebration. Note: Seating is first come, first served. More information can be found here.
