New additions have been made to two websites designed to help people plan for their eventual death as well as handle details related to the loss of someone close to them.

"Several years ago, I started ObituaryHelp.net, a site with sample obituaries and funeral-related printables. More recently, I added DeathPlanner.net as a one-stop online resource with checklists, forms and worksheets related to death planning," explained Kevin Savetz, the sites' creator. "There's a free version of each and every printable."

Many of the forms at DeathPlanner.net can be gathered into a Final Directive collection to "Get Your Life (and Death) in Order." The Final Directive planner is designed to save survivors time and additional heartache.

Along with planning forms, DeathPlanner.net has resources for someone trying to organize an estate after someone else's passing. There are funeral-planning forms, lists for passwords, assets, and much more—70 end-of-life checklists, forms and worksheets in all, plus informational articles.

The newest printables include: a creditors contact list, a dependent care planner, an executor checklist, an insurance policies list, a list of relatives to reach out to, safe deposit box information and a social media accounts list. Several worksheets are for listing electronics, furniture, art, jewelry and other possessions to be sold or distributed after one's death. Other new worksheets cover vehicles and real estate, with space to list values and locations.

DeathPlanner.net also has printables related to funeral services.

The official forms include a will and advance directive as well as related templates for expressing one's wishes. "Site users should consult an attorney when they need one," Savetz urged.

Everything at DeathPlanner.net is free to download one at a time in PDF or editable DOC (Microsoft Word) form. There's also the convenient option to download all of the forms at once as a Collection for $47.

There are also new sample obituaries at ObituaryHelp.net. The site now has 100 free obituary and death notice templates, forms and funeral program layouts, along with funeral and memorial invitations.

"These templates provide a framework for telling the story of someone's life," Savetz said. "Formatting is also provided to share information about memorial services and donations."

The new obituaries have sample wording for the death of someone in a specific profession, with a particular ailment and other circumstances. ObituaryHelp.net has formal and funny obits of varying lengths, and the DOC files are easy to customize. The site also has thank you note templates, plus articles with tips on obituary writing, funeral etiquette and related issues.

"Planning for death is a topic that can be uncomfortable," Savetz reiterated. "But my hope is that DeathPlanner.net and ObituaryHelp.net can help."
