Tunisian Ambassador Hanène Tajouri Bessassi hosted an evening gathering for friends and supporters of Washington Global Charter School, a middle school that educates future global leaders, on June 5. The tuition-free institution — located, curiously enough, on School Street in Southwest D.C. — offers a rigorous, internationally focused curriculum, as students are immersed in foreign languages, including Korean and Spanish, global studies and project-based learning.

At the Residence of Tunisia, school founder and CEO Liz Torres remarked that Washington Global isn’t just a school — “It is a launchpad for understanding the importance of diplomacy in an ever-changing world.”
