It may come as a surprise to learn that Valentine's Day flowers can lead to the discovery of many extramarital affairs. But according to infidelity expert Ruth Houston, many cheating men will be accidentally exposed by the flowers they give their mistresses today. Houston says there are two main ways this can happen and describes how easily it can occur.
Says Houston
"Most cheating men buy the flowers for their wife ( or main girlfriend) and their mistress from the same florist at the same time. Sometimes the florist accidentally gets the love notes for the two sets of flowers mixed up. But if the notes are attached by the cheater himself, then he may be responsible for the mistake."
Houston points out that florists feel this is the reason that increasing numbers of cheating husbands are charging the wife's flowers to their credit card, but paying for the mistress's flowers with cash.
But Houston continues:
"Even then, things can still go wrong. Sometimes the florist receipt with the name and address of the mistress may be accidentally left in the cheater's pocket, or inadvertently left lying around for his wife or main girlfriend to find. So paying in cash is no guarantee that he'll escape detection if he's careless with the receipt."
It could also be a credit card statement comes in after Valentine's day, or even a credit slip. Houston says if there's evidence that indicates two sets of long stem roses were purchased and the wife got one, the cheater still has some explaining to do.
