Frosch Classic Cruise and Travel, was recently interviewed on KNX/CBS News Radio in Los Angeles, about Holiday Travel Tips, by Bob Brill and she praised a new program from TSA which, according to the agency website, ?enhances aviation security by placing more focus on pre-screening individuals who volunteer to participate to expedite the travel experience.? After discussing a number of normal holiday travel issues, Reder mentioned that this ?fantastic new? program, called TSA Pre, was coming to Southern California and that TSA personnel would be visiting her office, located in the Woodland Hills suburb of Los Angeles, early next year.
In a follow up interview, Reder explained that passengers register online and then go for an interview at a designated local airport. For those in Southern California, the locations will be Los Angeles International Airport and John Wayne Airport in Orange County. She lamented that the dearth of interview locations but still believes that TSA Pre is a positive development. The TSA website relates that the program, which is partnered with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. air carriers, will be ?implementing a key component of the agency?s intelligence driven, risk based approach to security.?
?This will bring welcome respite for business travelers, which are a major revenue source for airlines, as well as our clients who travel frequently and dread the thought of long lines and intrusive searches,? said Susan Reder. The TSA website included these specifics: ?Certain frequent travelers from Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, US Airways and certain members of CBP's Trusted Traveler programs, including Global Entry, SENTRI, and NEXUS who are U.S. citizens are eligible to participate. As of November 15, Canadian citizens traveling domestically in the United States who are members of NEXUS are also qualified to participate in TSA Pre??. In addition, passengers 12 and younger are allowed through TSA Pre?? lanes with eligible passengers.?
