I love Pinterest and don’t spend as much time there as I should.

My board 50 Tips for Free Publicity has been so successful in driving traffic to my blog, that after I filled the board with 50 pins, each offering a juicy publicity tip, I kept pinning. Why stop at 50?

When I visited the board this morning, I noticed that I hadn’t added a publicity tip in months and that more than 3,600 people are following the board! So I added Publicity Tip #56, urging authors and product developers to buy tables at small community events to do book signings and product demonstrations.

But what really convinced me to devote more attention to Pinterest was listening to Daniel Hall and John Kremer explain the success they’ve seen on their own Pinterest boards with something called a “tip-o-graphic.” It’s a pinnable image that includes mostly words, like 10 tips excerpted from your book or speaker presentation. It’s similar to my pins on the 50 Tips for Free Publicity board, but it’s accompanied by a small image of your book cover or your logo or a photo.

I wanted to learn more, and let you in on their secrets. So I invited them to join me tomorrow—April 26—from 4 to 6 p.m. Eastern on a free webinar called they call “Get Your Piece of the $11 Billion Annual ‘Share Economy’ + The Controversial Case Study: How I Drove Over 168K Clicks to My Website with Just One graphic. You can claim your free seat here.

They’ll explain not only how to create a tip-o-graphic and other images, but how to create a strategy that will drive tons of traffic to your website, regardless of what you’re selling. Here’s an example of a tip-o-graphic from one of John’s boards. On Pinterest, if you click on the image and then click again, it leads you to his blog:

People love these! Here are six reasons why these tip-o-graphics are so much more powerful than Facebook:

  1. The average half-life of a Facebook post is 90 minutes. The average half-life of a Pinterest post is 3.5 months.
  2. Pinterest users spend 70 percent more than visitors from other social networks.
  3. The average order value of a sale from Pinterest is $50. When was the last time you saw a sale from content you posted to Facebook, not including paid Facebook ads?
  4. 87 percent of Pinterest users have bought something online after browsing pins. Facebook doesn’t even come close to matching that.
  5. 93 percent of people on Pinterest use it to plan their purchases.
  6. Only 20 percent of Pinterest users ever create content. The other 80 percent simply pin and share the content.

What You’ll Learn Tomorrow

During tomorrow’s presentation, Daniel and John will reveal:

  • Why one book-o-graphic was repinned more than 1.4 million times and drove more than 122,547 website visitors.
  • How you can effectively use Pinterest even if you’re not a graphic artist and couldn’t design your way out of a wet paper bag.
  • The graphic “hack” that practically forces people to notice your pin
  • The characteristic of the most shared infographics on Pinterest and how you can exploit them.
  • What a book-o-graphic is and why you should be using them daily to build your email list.

This training is perfect for Pinterest newbies as well as for those who are already in love with Pinterest and use it often. One lucky attendee will get a special socail grapphic created and posted to their Pinteret bord that has more than 1,000 followers. But you must be on the call live to be selected.

I hope you can join us. Register here.
