Ten tips to find the best Medicare insurance options were posted today by the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI).

"Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period is approaching and consumers will be focused on re-evaluating their coverage for the coming year," shares Jesse Slome, the national organization's director.   "Medicare is more complicated than people think and there are some important but little-known ways to get the best coverage for the best cost."

Based on information shared by leading Medicare insurance agents, the Association director suggests that consumers comparison shop before locking in a decision.  "Some Medicare insurance choices could be irreversible and others could wind up costing you thousands of dollars that you didn't need to spend," Slome explains.

The yearly Medicare Annual Enrollment Period begins October 15.  "Millions of seniors who are on Medicare have the option to switch certain coverage," Slome notes.  "But open enrollment lasts only 54 days and one must act within that time frame.  In the meantime, there are 11,000 Americans turning 65 every day and becoming eligible for Medicare coverage."
