Every December, we get bombarded with messages about sparkle, cheer, and “making the season magical.”
But there’s a quieter side to this month too.
A side where people miss someone deeply.
Or miss a version of life they thought they’d have by now.
Or miss the feeling of ease they used to take for granted.
This season doesn’t just highlight abundance—it highlights absence.

When Something Is Missing
And absence has a gravity of its own.
Wanting isn’t always about craving more.
Sometimes it’s about naming what slipped away, what changed, what’s no longer here, or what never arrived in the first place.
A Small Kindness for Today
Ask yourself:
“Who or what do I miss — and what kindness can I offer myself around it?”
This isn’t a healing assignment.
It’s a soft landing.
Some days, the only kindness you can offer is not rushing past the truth.
A line from Book One that fits this moment:
“Longing is never the problem; it’s the beginning of your relationship with what matters.”
So here’s your permission slip:
Feel the missing without turning it into a verdict about your life.
December is tender.
You’re allowed to be too.
If these monthly aches are waking up something deeper, the Healing The Wanting Foundation Trilogy explores this terrain with grounded compassion: Check it out here (you’ll be glad you did.)
