Last month we shared our thoughts on life balance, which many times speaks to how you are honoring your priorities. So, extending that train of thought, we’ll continue with tips and strategies about setting prioirites.

After all, isn’t life balance really about honoring those priorities?

I like to challenge my clients to use a “priority funnel” to help them choose their daily, weekly monthly and even yearly goals and tasks.

What IS a prioity funnel?

Easy.

The top of the funnel is where your longest term goals are, and as you move down the funnel, the time becomes closer.

In other words, your ten year goals are at the top of the funnel, and your daily goals are at the bottom. But in choosing your daily goals, you keep the priority funnel in mind. This enable you to place things in your daily or weekly plans that relate to goals at the top of the funnel.

Many people do this backwards, or actually not at all. They just have lists of things that are present tasks, and unfortunately many of them are to dos that come from others and are not related to your hopes, goals, and dreams.

The priority funnel is a simple concept that is simple to use. The biggest challenge — always — is to decide what those priorities are. We have several posts that can help you with that…

Stay tuned for more tips on how to become more clear on those priorities in our blog posts and podcasts this November!
