Fish Taco loves the DMV — and vice versa. Its latest location, 12117 Darnestown Road in the Shops at Potomac Valley in Gaithersburg, offers Baja-style tacos: beef, chicken and veggie in addition to fish. There are other locations in Falls Church, Tysons Corner, North Bethesda, Downtown Bethesda and Cabin John.

Chef Miguel Guerra (Mita) opened Donisima in La Cosecha, 1280 4th St. NE, the award-winning doughnut concept’s first permanent flagship. Donisima transforms the classic American doughnut into a showcase for Latin American flavors such as arequipe and queso fresco. It will also offer baked goods and savory items.

Bo Blair (Millie’s, Jetties, Surfside) opened The Wheelhouse at 5714 Connecticut Ave. NW in D.C.’s Chevy Chase neighborhood. Channeling Nantucket vibes, the 24-seat bar features a New American menu created by chef David Scribner. Its double-entendre, boat-themed name refers both to where a boat is steered and to something one is comfortable with.

Hotel AKA Alexandria is now the Satire, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, managed by Concord Hospitality. Its main restaurant, The Wise Fool, opens for breakfast and dinner, while The Bad Poets Café offers casual dining.

Hotel AKA Washington Circle in D.C. is now One Washington Circle, part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, likewise managed by Concord Hospitality. Ten Ten West End has replaced a.kitchen+bar, focusing on an innovative beverage program and seasonal Mid-Atlantic ingredients.

Dan Daley of Ten Five Hospitality plans to open The Oak Room, a high-end American grill, with supper club Bernadette’s upstairs, at 1218 Wisconsin Ave. NW in Georgetown, where El Centro D.F. used to be. L.A.-based chef Tim Hollingsworth will direct the culinary program. Daley, a Georgetown University graduate, used to bartend at Third Edition, which reigned for years at that address.

Quick Hits: Stillwater & Stone, a new land-and-sea restaurant and bar, opened in the newly renovated Westin Crystal City in Arlington’s National Landing … Eataly, Oscar Farinetti’s Italian food hall, will take over the former American Girl space at 1961 Chain Bridge Road in Tysons Corner Center … Spanish chef Pepe Moncayo (CranesArrels) has orchestrated a new menu at the Tabard Inn in Dupont Circle … Duke’s Grocery opened at Crystal City Water Park, 1621 Crystal Drive, owner Daniel Kramer’s first Virginia location … Urban Garden Brewhouse replaces Right Proper Brewing Company next to the Howard Theatre in Shaw, becoming the first Black woman-owned brewery in D.C. … Rita’s Italian Ice and Good Trouble Roasters are slated to open at 3800 Langston Boulevard in the Cherrydale section of Arlington. The coffee shop’s owner, Mike Greiner, plans to target the coffee crowd in the morning and happy hour aficionados in the evening. He also owns Black Market salsa, so expect proper happy hour food to complement the beer and wine.
