The El Paso district Small Business Administration selected Susan Eisen as their 2009 Small Businessperson of the Year. The SBA awards committee chose the award recipients by the examination of a businesses' financial success as well as the contribution to their industry and small business as a whole. The award was presented to Susan Eisen in front of fellow local small businesspeople and other community leaders on May 14, 2009 at the Wyndham Hotel. Susan Eisen Fine Jewelry & Watches has also received the following awards: Best Bling Bling from What's Up Weekly 2005-2008, Best Jewelry Store, Best Place to Buy Wedding Bands, and Best Locally Owned Business from El Paso Magazine 2006-2009, selected as 1 of 31 America's Best Jewelers by National Jeweler Magazine 2008-Present, and 2007 Woman Retailer of the Year from the Women's Jewelry Association.

Susan Eisen is a jewelry appraiser, author, and the CEO/Chief Designer at Susan Eisen Fine Jewelry & Watches and creator of LIFETAG Medical ID jewelry, a line of contemporary medical ID jewelry for people with serious medical conditions. Her titles include Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America, Certified Gemologist Appraiser with the American Gem Society, certified member of the International Society of Appraisers and Senior Member and Master Gemologist Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers, a title held by only 4 other people in Texas and only 42 in the entire United States. An El Paso native, she founded her first store in 1980, is now located at 5857 North Mesa, and does custom jewelry designing, repairs, and jewelry and fine art appraising. In 2008, Ms. Eisen added a gallery to her store featuring El Paso artists and handmade crafts and exhibits art pieces made by artists who specialize in unique and creative products.
