It was a night that felt like a work of art. On the evening of November 1st, 80 of Washington’s luminaries enjoyed an elegant dinner and dance performances at The Arts Club of Washington in support of Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company. The evening began with cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres in the Monroe Parlor of The Arts Club, the historic location of President Monroe’s inaugural ball. The dance company performed excerpts from its acclaimed repertoire to live piano by Dana Nichole Scott. The lithe dancers performed with their signature precision and emotionality.

The guests proceeded downstairs to a Black and White themed dinner, the guests dressed the part in elegant attire – a vision of timeless sophistication. The gala chairs Izette Folger, Kelly Dinglasan Minton, and Bonnie Kogod were the gracious hostesses of the evening. Every detail from the ikebana style floral arrangements by Lolly Flowers to the place settings were impeccable. There was a lovely intimate ambiance that isn’t always present at Washington galas which led to the buzz of jovial conversations. Gala honorees included Cary Fuller-Board Member of the Woodrow Wilson House, DTSBDC board members Mary Eccles and Ellen Kwatnoski, DTSBDC advisory board member Yang-Ro Yoon, and DTSBDC’s longtime rehearsal director Anne Sidney. Attendees also included George and Kristin Lund, Irina Rappoport, Leigh Slaughter, Wilfried Zeisler and Jerome Lamy, and Gina and Edward Adams, among others.
