GeoConvention 2015 Geoscience New Horizons takes place May 4-8, 2015. This annual show will be showcasing geoscience breakthroughs in new technologies. The theme NEW HORIZONS focuses on the energy, petroleum, oil and gas industry's efforts to move beyond today's limitations and build for the future.

STAR-TING INCORPORATED is pleased to announce its participation in the conference with two presentations in the technical program on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.

(1)    The Business of Geoscience in Macleod Hall A/B at Calgary's Telus Convention Centre, with session chairs Rob Panek and Byron Kelly will introduce Loreen Sherman, Director and CEO at Star-Ting Incorporated. She will highlight "Social License Fundamentals You Need to Increase Project Success". This technical program is designed to increase awareness of who is responsible for transferring industry knowledge and how to perform tasks outlined in a project successfully.

Social license to operate enters the stage as a response to the need for effective management of social and environmental risk. Project success relies on the process and the people. Learn how to engage in planning change and identifying stronger community connections.

Corporate and project-level risk is complex and often requires external assistance. Star-Ting Incorporated is positioned to help uncover hidden threats by focusing on risk assessments. Their process is a combination of safety, environmental and they integrate social license to operate into the solution to find a consistent way to gain project approval. Combining a risk management process to uncover potential risks in management policies, procedures and practices helps monitor and treat risk.

(2)    Following up from last year's GeoConvention 2014 Focus where Loreen Sherman presented "Kidd Copper Tailing Site – Reclamation New Meaning" poster. She will undertake to use "Advanced Analytics to Uncover Theoretical Flaws". Integrating geology with in situ analysis is an opportunity to learn about the latest advances in heavy oil and oil sands. Join Andres Altosaar and Mark Caplan as Session Chairs, as Sherman explains the purpose of the research and how all geologic chronology is applied to the Law of Superposition. Especially pertinent to important reservoirs and heterogeneous correlations, this presentation will answer several questions raised from literature about original horizontality. This new data will change the way Alberta Oil Sands are understood.

Register for the GeoConvention 2015 New Horizons Conference, it will be an eye-opener.

Director and CEO at Star-Ting Incorporated, Loreen Sherman is currently active in multiple community projects including: Canadian Heavy Oil Association (CHOA) Communications and External Relations committee; Construction Owners Association of Alberta (COAA) Contracting Strategy sub-committee; Sage Mentor for FuturPreneur; Secretary for the Board, Petroleum History Society (PHS); Supply Chain Management (SCMA) Magazine Editorial Committee; Supply Chain Management (SCMA) Giving Back Task Force.
