Signs of a Cheating Mate to Look for Shortly After Valentines Day

There are certain signs of infidelity that typically appear shortly AFTER Valentine's Day, which can expose a cheating mate to an unsuspecting spouse or significant other, or confirm the existence of a suspected extramarital affair, according to New York-based infidelity expert Ruth Houston.

Houston, who is frequently called on by the media to comment on infidelity issues in the news, has conducted a Valentine's Day Infidelity Awareness Campaign every year for the past 14 years.  The purpose of her campaign is to heighten public awareness of the link between infidelity and Valentine's Day, and provide men and women with practical advice on how to catch a cheating mate during the most romantic time of the year.

On the final day of her 14th Annual Valentine's Day Infidelity Awareness Campaign, Houston, the author of Is He Cheating on You?- 829 Telltale Signs, lists some specific signs of infidelity that commonly show up after Valentine's Day.  The complete list of post-Valentine's Day cheating signs appears at www.InfidelityAdvice.com.

Says Houston:

"Jewelry, lingerie, gift cards, restaurant receipts, ATM withdrawal slips, credit card statements, text messages, and e-mails and other incriminating evidence that's easy to find, can provide valuable clues about a less-than-faithful mate.  Knowing what to look for is the key."

  • Receipts or credit card bills for candy, flowers, jewelry, lingerie or gift cards you didn't personally receive from him on Valentine's Day.  Who got a gift card for $300 worth of lingerie from Victoria's Secret, or a day of pampering at a local spa?  (If it wasn't you, then who?)
  • Receipts or charge slips for gifts that don't correspond with the Valentine's Day gift he gave you. Real-Life StoryLorraine found a crumpled jewelry store receipt on Logan's nightstand and was about to throw it away. Out of curiosity, she took a closer look to see how much Logan paid for her Valentine's Day gift.  The receipt was for something totally different from what Lorraine received. Logan gave her a beautiful heart-shaped diamond pendant, but according to the receipt, he also bought an $800 diamond and ruby ring for someone elseVisit www.RealLifeInfidelity.com for  more brief real-life stories of how cheaters were exposed by Valentine's Day gifts.
  • Credit card receipts for a hotel stay dated February 13 (Mistress Day), February 14, or February 15, the day of or the day after Valentine's Day. (Does the time stamp correspond with the time your husband or boyfriend was missing in action or unreachable by phone on Mistress Day?) See the Mistress Day articles at www.InfidelityAdvice.com
  • For men with cheating mates:  New jewelry your wife or girlfriend suddenly starts wearing shortly after Valentine's Day - especially if it's heart shaped, contains diamonds or rubies, or is engraved with sentiments of love. (If she attempts to pass it off as a piece of jewelry she bought for herself, ask her to show you the sales receipt.)
