There are certain signs of infidelity that typically appear shortly AFTER Valentine's Day, which can expose a cheating mate to an unsuspecting spouse or significant other, or confirm the existence of a suspected extramarital affair, according to New York-based infidelity expert Ruth Houston.
Houston, who is frequently called on by the media to comment on infidelity issues in the news, has conducted a Valentine's Day Infidelity Awareness Campaign every year for the past 14 years. The purpose of her campaign is to heighten public awareness of the link between infidelity and Valentine's Day, and provide men and women with practical advice on how to catch a cheating mate during the most romantic time of the year.
On the final day of her 14th Annual Valentine's Day Infidelity Awareness Campaign, Houston, the author of Is He Cheating on You?- 829 Telltale Signs, lists some specific signs of infidelity that commonly show up after Valentine's Day. "Jewelry, lingerie, gift cards, restaurant receipts, ATM withdrawal slips, credit card statements, text messages, and e-mails and other incriminating evidence that's easy to find, can provide valuable clues about a less-than-faithful mate. Knowing what to look for is the key."
- Receipts or credit card bills for candy, flowers, jewelry, lingerie or gift cards you didn't personally receive from him on Valentine's Day. Who got a gift card for $300 worth of lingerie from Victoria's Secret, or a day of pampering at a local spa? (If it wasn't you, then who?)
- Receipts or charge slips for gifts that don't correspond with the Valentine's Day gift he gave you. Real-Life Story: Lorraine found a crumpled jewelry store receipt on Logan's nightstand and was about to throw it away.
