Using humor in your message is the message that top keynote speaker and comedian Jan McInnis will share with attendees at the Chesapeake Region Safety Council's Mid-Atlantic Safety meeting this week, Thursday, October 10, in Laurel, Maryland.

"It's not about being a comedian," McInnis says, "It's about using humor in your message to get people to listen, remember and share it." McInnis notes that so many times we hear the same message over and over in the same way, and it just turns into background noise.

McInnis will be sharing humor techniques that comedians use to get and keep the audience's attention. And she'll translate those tips into ways that safety professionals can use them too.

For the past 25 years, business humor expert Jan McInnis has traveled the country as a keynote speaker and comedian, sharing her humor and her tips with safety, emergency, healthcare and other groups.
