By Response Labs

Being recognized as one of the best workplaces in the country is a significant milestone that reflects the hard work and dedication of every team member at Response Labs. It is a testament to our focus on building a supportive work environment where our team feels valued, engaged, and empowered to do their best work. Read on to learn more about the steps we’ve taken to make Response Labs one of the best places to work in the United States.

Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces award is a highly sought-after accolade that recognizes companies with exceptional workplace cultures, employee engagement, and employee satisfaction. To be recognized as one of the best workplaces in the country is no small feat, and we are so honored to be considered among some of the country’s most inspiring organizations. Especially on the heels of being ranked one of the fastest-growing companies in America by Inc. 5000.

“Our company’s success is directly attributed to the success of everyone on our team, so there is no hesitation when it comes to ensuring we have the best benefits and support available for our team’s wellness and growth,” says Jen Aldinger, Director of Client Service and a Partner at Response Labs. “When you have the ability to make decisions on behalf of your teams’ best interests, it’s a no-brainer. The people on this team are what set us apart. Receiving this recognition, as one of the best places to work in the country, is a massive achievement for us and we can’t wait to deliver on this recognition for years to come.”

How we got here

Our leadership team has dedicated significant thought, time, and resources to make Response Labs an incredible place to work. Here are three areas we dedicated our efforts to over the past year that helped create our company culture:

– Building a comprehensive benefits package

Despite being a small team (we are members of Inc. Magazine’s “micro” category), our list of employee benefits is robust. When our team has access to financial, healthcare, wellness and other support, they are able to work to their best ability. Benefits at Response Labs include:

  • CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield health, dental/vision insurance with employer contribution
  • AFLAC short term disability available
  • Maternity Leave paid at up to 80% for 12 weeks
  • 401k plan with matching up to 5%
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Monthly wellness reimbursements for every team member
  • Quarterly, team nominated performance award drawings
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • Paid federal holidays
  • Flex time from day one and a hybrid work schedule for team members near one of our three offices

– Enabling continuous professional development

We pride ourselves in being experts and thought leaders in all things CRM and Loyalty Marketing. But everyone on our team is always sharpening existing skills and learning new ones. In fact, we reserve 10% of every Response Lab team member’s workload allocation each week to professional development. Our team uses that time to obtain certifications in Salesforce, The Trade Desk, Google Analytics, HubSpot, Punchh, or another platform our clients use. It can also be used for taking online classes and reading articles or books relevant to our industry. When new teammates are hired at Response Labs, they are provided with an onboarding curriculum that ensures they can bring the best industry technical and strategic knowledge to our clients.

– Fostering social connections

Our team is made up of hybrid and remote team members across multiple U.S. time zones. We make an effort to build and sustain connections across team members starting with every new employee. Upon starting, new team members have 1:1 meetings with every other person on our team to get to know them and learn more about their role. On the first Friday of every month, we host a virtual happy hour for everyone to catch up and hangout. Each quarter, we bring the entire team to our headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland for a three-day, in-person gathering. Although a fair amount of that time is spent collaborating together, we also make time for volunteering events, fun excursions, and more.

Looking to the future

Winning Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces award is not just an honor; it is a call to action. Response Labs’ continued success will depend on maintaining the high standards that earned us this recognition in the first place. We will continue prioritizing our team, listening to their feedback, and adapting to their evolving needs. If we sound like a team you want to work with (whether as a client or member of Team RL), don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.
