Help Get It Right at August Book Signing and Shopping Opportunity

Chevy Chase, DC

Life and relationship coach Amy Schoen, author of Getting It Right This Time: How to Find and Keep Your Ideal Romantic Relationship, will be the guest speaker at the Dress for Success benefit event, August 11, 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Bloomingdales Chevy Chase.

25% of proceeds from Amy's book sales and 10% of proceeds from Bloomingdales' sales will be donated to Dress for Success, a national organization dedicated to promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. In the DC area, Dress for Success served more than 2,000 women in 2010.

Amy wholeheartedly embraces the mission of Dress for Success, explaining "Everyone deserves another chance -- whether economically, professionally or relationship-wise. With proper guidance, everyone can learn from the past and be more successful moving forward."

"Get It Right This Time" offers essential tips about connecting with and keeping a good relationship for those interested in figuring out who would make the right mate. Aimed primarily at adults ages 35-55, Amy explains her approach comprehensively, step by step: how to get started, what to look for in potential dates, where to find people who resonate with you, how to deal with discouragement and what skills are needed to move forward when you do meet and commit to that special, right person.

Her sound advice is based on her own dating & relationship research - hundreds of respondents to her questionnaires - input from friends as well as her own life experiences. Amy coaches singles to attract and keep a committed relationship in the near future without wasting time, energy and money. She is now happily married and credits her quest for knowledge about how to find the right marriage partner and her work with a coach in helping her to realize this goal after a painful divorce in her mid thirties.

Unlike many dating coaches, Amy is certified by the Coaches Training Institute of San Raphael, CA which is recognized as a top school by the International Coach Federation. Additionally, she holds an MBA from Georgetown University. Her coaching draws upon her intuition and relationship expertise as well as her business savvy. Amy has spoken to numerous professional organizations and social groups in the Washington DC area including the Professionals in the City, First Class, Learning Escapes, New Beginnings, American Women in Communications, Women Business Owners of Montgomery County and the eWomen Network, as well as the (add: Learning Tree in Philadelphia and the) 92nd Street Y in New York City. Bloomingdales, an ongoing supporter of Dress for Success, is also providing light refreshments for this affordable ($20.00) cause-related event to be held on the second floor in the Chevy Chase store's women's department. #####
