BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ, December 12, 2008 ? New Jersey Media Center LLC will host a two-day workshop, entitled Portfolio Development, Critique and Creation on January 25 and February 1, 2009 from 10:00am-5:00pm. The workshop, held at Nancy Ori Studios in Berkeley Heights, NJ, and limited to just four participants, is designed for professional and amateur photographers, as well as other artists.

In the two-day workshop, conducted by photographic artist Nancy Ori and photographer and author Andrew Darlow, participants will develop a fine-art photography portfolio by working with Nancy Ori on the first day. Specific tried and true tips will be covered, and a printed handout with suggested vendors, sample artist statements, framing tips, and more will be provided. The workshop will include critiques of each participant?s portfolio, as well as recommendations for which images should be printed during the printing session with Andrew Darlow.

"This workshop offers a unique opportunity for intermediate to advanced photographers who want to become exhibiting artists or learn how to further their current careers," states Nancy Ori. "Attendees will learn how to recognize and develop a personal style, how to edit images to create a strong body of work, and then use that training to make a portfolio of gallery-quality prints."

On the second day, attendees will work with Andrew Darlow to produce up to four gallery-quality pigment inkjet prints for exhibition on Epson and HP pigment ink printers. Topics to be covered include:

? Suggested color management hardware and software, and how to produce, install and use custom printer profiles;

? Tips for selecting inkjet papers, and specific paper suggestions for your type of work;

? Demonstration of a step-by-step printing workflow.

"I'm very excited about having the opportunity to work with Nancy Ori and a small group of photographers to help them produce prints for exhibition that closely match not just their monitors, but their personal vision," says Andrew Darlow, author of "301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques: An Essential Printing Resource for Photographers," (Course Technology PTR). "It will be fantastic to see a variety of work transformed from images on a screen to exhibition-quality prints."

Tuition for the two day workshop is $795 (plus $100 materials fee). A $100 early registration discount is applied for those who register on or before January 12, 2009.
